Mindfulness in yoga

Focused Mind

Focused Mind

“Yoga is different from other forms of exercise because it directs awareness to the body, breath, and feelings in each posture. A moving meditation, yoga therapy provides an opportunity to connect with a deeper sense of self. It teaches a child to observe his body—how it feels when he moves, when he is still, when he breathes, when he is agitated or calm. These are aspects of mindfulness.” (Goldberg, 2013, Yoga Therapy for Children with Autism and Special Needs, Norton, p.19) See more at Amazon.com
